Eyewear Care Information

Cleaning your glasses

For a quick clean, a soft lint-free cloth is all you need. For anything more stubborn, warm water and a small drop of washing up liquid works well. Rinse and dry gently with a soft cloth.

Avoid paper towels, tissues, and clothing. They are rougher than they look and will scratch the lenses over time. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners and anything containing solvents, as these can strip lens coatings.

Keeping your screws tight

The small screws in the hinges of your glasses can loosen over time with regular use. If your arms start to feel loose, a small precision screwdriver is all you need. The tiny ones that fall out of Christmas crackers are actually perfect for the job. A gentle turn is usually enough. Do not overtighten or you risk stripping the thread.

Heat and storage

Avoid leaving your glasses in a hot car for prolonged periods. Temperatures inside a parked car can reach levels that will warp frames and damage lens coatings.

If you keep a pair in the car, the glove box is a much better spot than the dashboard or a seat.

When you are not wearing them, keep your glasses somewhere they will not get sat on or scratched. A pouch or hard case if you have one, or just somewhere safe.
